Data Deletion

Publisher: Novecta Technologies Pvt Ltd (“Company”, “we”, “us”). Bookberry and bookberry.club are brands and digital services operated by the Company.

1. Your right to delete

You can delete your Bookberry reader account yourself. You do not need to email us to start deletion. Deletion is initiated only for the account you are signed into — never by typing someone else’s email.

This page is the public explanation of that process (including the URL declared for store listings). The action itself happens in the Bookberry app, while you are signed in.

2. How to delete your account

In the Bookberry app

Open Profile → Delete account, read what happens, and confirm. That is the self-serve path.

If you are not signed in, sign in first, then use Profile → Delete account in the app.

Questions before you delete? Contact contact@novecta.co.in — support is not the deletion request form.

If you have an order that is still pending, processing, or shipped, you may need to wait until it is delivered before you can schedule deletion. We need the account active to complete delivery and support.

3. Timeline

  1. Now. Your account is deactivated and you are signed out. You will not appear to other members while deactivated.
  2. Next 48 hours — cooling-off. Nothing is permanently deleted yet. Sign back in during this window to cancel and keep your account.
  3. After cooling-off — within 14 days. We process deletion automatically. It completes within 14 days of the cooling-off period ending. This cannot be undone.

4. What is deleted

Your profile and personal details

Name, email, avatar, mobile number, and saved addresses are removed from the living account. If you have made a purchase, name, email, and GSTIN (if you gave one) stay on the invoice — see section 6.

Your activity and progress

Reading activity, goals, and streaks are deleted.

Your rewards and credits

Berries, vouchers, and referral credits are zeroed out. They have no cash value and cannot be transferred or refunded. We do not take back Berries already granted to someone you referred.

Sessions and devices

Sign-in sessions and device tokens for this account are revoked.

5. What is anonymised

Community posts, comments, shared images, and memberships stay visible so conversations other people took part in are not broken. Your name, avatar, and profile link are replaced with “Deleted user.”

If you created a community or are its last admin, we promote another member where we can; if you are the only member, we archive the community.

6. What we are required to keep

If you have made a purchase through Bookberry, we keep order, payment, and invoice records as required under Indian tax and company law. We keep your name, email, and (if you gave one) GSTIN on the invoice, along with the shipping / place-of-supply details from that order. These stay on the invoice so we can meet tax law; they are not linked to a usable Bookberry login.

Card and UPI details are held by our payment provider (Razorpay), not by Bookberry. We cannot delete Razorpay’s copy.
