Community Guidelines
Policy version 1.2 · Effective date: September 1, 2026 · Part of our Terms of Service
Publisher: Novecta Technologies Pvt Ltd. Bookberry and bookberry.club are brands operated by the Company.
These Community Guidelines apply to communities, posts, comments, links, thumbnails, and other user-generated content on Bookberry.
1. Purpose
Bookberry communities let readers discuss books, share lists, and connect with others. These guidelines help keep communities welcoming and safe while allowing a broad range of literary perspectives—similar in spirit to platform community standards you may know from large social video platforms.
2. What is not allowed
- Harassment and hate: Threats, bullying, slurs, or attacks based on protected characteristics.
- Violence and dangerous acts: Content promoting violence, self-harm, or illegal activity.
- Sexual content involving minors: Zero tolerance; we report to authorities where required.
- Spam and deception: Scams, impersonation, misleading links, or repetitive promotional content.
- Intellectual property: Piracy, unauthorized full-text uploads, or content that infringes copyrights.
- Private information: Sharing others’ personal data without consent (doxxing).
- Off-topic abuse: Content with no reasonable connection to books, reading, or the community’s stated purpose.
3. Enforcement
We may remove content, restrict features, or suspend accounts that violate these guidelines or our Terms of Service. Serious or repeated violations may result in permanent removal from Bookberry services.
4. Reporting
Report a post, comment, or community from the Bookberry app or from bookberry.club while you are signed in. After you report, that item is hidden for you and stays hidden. It is not taken down for others unless a reviewer removes or suspends it.
- Posts and comments (except illegal or sexual content) go to that community’s moderators.
- Community reports and any report of illegal or sexual content go to Bookberry.
- If a community-moderator report is still unaddressed after 24 hours, it escalates to Bookberry.
You cannot report a community you created. Use customer support instead.
If you cannot use in-product reporting, email contact@novecta.co.in with a link and description. Email is a backup, not the primary path.
5. Blocking
You can block another person. Block is two-way: neither of you will see the other’s community posts or comments, or be able to interact. They are not told that you blocked them.
Unblock from Profile → Blocked accounts.
