Welcome to Bookberry.club ("we," "our," or "us"). We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our website and services.
By using our website/application and availing various products/services from Bookberry.club, you consent to the terms of this Privacy Policy in addition to the terms of use of our mobile application, website, and product documents.
When you add and verify a mobile number on Bookberry, we may contact you via WhatsApp or SMS for account-related purposes. This section explains how we use your phone number and how you control messaging preferences.
We use your mobile number to send a one-time verification code (OTP) via WhatsApp or SMS so we can confirm you control the number. OTP messages are functional and are not marketing communications.
With your explicit consent during phone verification, we may send transactional messages about your account and orders, including order updates, payment alerts, and other service notifications. This consent is required to verify your phone number. To stop service messages, you may remove your verified phone number from your profile or contact us at contact@novecta.co.in.
We will only send promotional messages (deals, early access offers, and similar marketing) if you opt in via a separate checkbox during verification or later in your profile Mobile Preferences. You can turn off promotional messages anytime from your profile without affecting transactional notifications.
We use third-party messaging providers (including MSG91) to deliver WhatsApp and SMS messages. WhatsApp is operated by Meta; by enabling WhatsApp notifications you also agree to WhatsApp’s Terms of Service. Providers process your phone number only to deliver messages on our behalf.
Promotional SMS in India is subject to Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) rules. We send promotional messages only where you have provided explicit opt-in consent and honor opt-out requests promptly.
We retain a record of your consent choices (including version of the consent text shown, channel, and timestamp) for compliance and audit purposes.
We implement appropriate security measures, including encryption, access controls, and secure data storage through Supabase, to protect your data. However, we cannot provide absolute assurance regarding data security.
You can delete your Bookberry account yourself. See our Data Deletion policy for the full process, timelines, and what we keep.
After you confirm, there is a 48-hour cooling-off period. Sign back in during that window to cancel. After cooling-off ends, we process deletion automatically and complete it within 14 days. If you have made a purchase, name, email, and (if you gave one) GSTIN stay on the invoice, along with the shipping / place-of-supply details from that order, as required under Indian tax and company law — details are in the Data Deletion policy.
We retain your data as long as necessary for providing services, fulfilling legal obligations, or legitimate business purposes.
Push notification tokens are kept while the device is registered. They are disabled when you sign out or turn off notifications, and removed when the account is deleted. Expo may retain delivery data under its own policy.
Bookberry accounts are for readers aged 18 and over. After you sign in, we ask you to confirm this once with a self-declaration checkbox. We do not require a date of birth for that check.
Date of birth is optional profile information. You can add or update it in your profile. If you confirm you are 18 or older but a date of birth already on the account shows you are under 18, we ask you to update the date of birth or tell us you are under 18. We use date of birth only to keep the 18+ rule accurate, keep it while the account exists, and remove it when the account is deleted.
If you tell us you are under 18 during a new sign-up, we do not keep an account for you.
If you already have an account and tell us you are under 18, we schedule that account for deletion. You have 48 hours to sign in and cancel. Invoices from orders are retained as required by Indian tax law.
We may transfer data internationally, ensuring appropriate safeguards are in place.
Our Berry Rewards Program is designed to incentivize reading and engagement. Here's how we handle your data in relation to this program:
We retain your rewards data (berry balance, transaction history, tier information) for the duration of your account to maintain accurate reward calculations and prevent system abuse. This data may be retained longer for legitimate business purposes or legal compliance.
We rely on third-party services that each have their own privacy policies. Some run inside the Bookberry mobile app; others run only on our website. We separate them below so it is clear which data leaves the app.
These process data when you use the iOS or Android app:
The Bookberry app does not run the Meta Pixel, Google Ads, Google Analytics, Amplitude, or New Relic tools described below — those operate on our website only.
We use Meta Pixel (formerly Facebook Pixel) to measure the effectiveness of our advertising campaigns and to understand how users interact with our website. Meta Pixel is a tracking technology provided by Meta Platforms, Inc. (Facebook).
Data collected by Meta Pixel is transmitted to and processed by Meta Platforms, Inc. (Facebook), located in the United States. Meta may use this data in accordance with their own privacy policy and for their own purposes, including advertising and analytics.
Meta Pixel is only activated after you have explicitly consented to the use of tracking technologies via our cookie consent banner. You can withdraw your consent at any time by:
Please note that withdrawing consent will prevent Meta Pixel from tracking your future visits, but it will not affect data already collected by Meta.
We use the Google tag (gtag.js) and Google Ads conversion IDs (for example AW-18094346045) to measure advertising performance and attribute sign-ups or purchases to ad campaigns. Data may be processed by Google LLC in the United States and other countries.
Google Ads tags load only after you accept marketing/analytics cookies. You can opt out via Google Ad Settings.
On our website only, we use GA4 and Amplitude to understand product usage, funnels, and feature engagement. These tools collect pseudonymous identifiers, page paths, device data, and interaction events. They are activated only after you accept marketing/analytics cookies. The Bookberry iOS and Android apps do not include Amplitude or Google Analytics.
We use New Relic Browser monitoring to measure site reliability, performance, and JavaScript errors. Data is sent to New Relic (beacon host bam.eu01.nr-data.net in the EU). This is used for operations and diagnostics, not for ad targeting, and runs without marketing cookie consent.
For more information about how Meta processes your data, please review Meta's Privacy Policy.
We use cookies and similar technologies on our website (bookberry.club) in two tiers. The Bookberry iOS and Android apps do not set these cookies or load these tags.
| Technology | Provider | Purpose | Tier |
|---|---|---|---|
| Session / auth cookies | Bookberry | Login, security | 1 |

Use the cookie banner on first visit, or click Cookie preferences in the site footer, to Accept or Decline marketing/analytics cookies. You may also contact contact@novecta.co.in.
You can control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling essential cookies may affect site functionality.
We may update this policy occasionally. We will notify you of significant changes via email, website notices, or in-app notifications.
